National Archives
Welcome to the National Archives!
As the memory of the country, our first priority is to safeguard archival records in order to preserve the legal security and history of Liechtenstein. We ensure that legally and historically relevant documents are preserved as unaltered and authentic as possible in order to make them permanently available for historical, scientific, political, economic, social, cultural, administrative or legal purposes.

Formation of tradition
The department for the formation of records advises the government, the state administration, the state parliament and the judiciary on the delivery of records to the state archive. These documents are evaluated for their archival value and either taken over by the State Archives or disposed. In addition, we support private individuals as well as clubs and associations in setting up and maintaining their archives.
