Special legal requirements apply to road transport companies
The EEA provisions on the licensing and operation of road transport undertakings apply to the commercial operation of goods transport with vehicles over 3.5 tonnes gross weight and, in the field of passenger transport, to the commercial operation of vehicles capable of carrying more than 9 persons (including the driver).
The relevant provisions can be found below in the Road Transport Act (STG), LGBl. 2006 No. 185, as well as the Ordinance on Licensing and the Exercise of Activities as a Road Transport Company in Passenger and Freight Transport (STUV), LGBl. 2006 No. 259.
Special regulations thus apply to the following areas for companies with vehicles above the above-mentioned limits:
- Proof of reliability
- Proof of professional suitability (Form for Transport Professional Examination)
- Proof of financial standing
- Proof of a Liechtenstein permanent establishment
