"Schönste Bücher aus Liechtenstein"

The competition "Schönste Bücher aus Liechtenstein 2023" is closed. The next competition - "Schönste Bücher aus Liechtenstein 2024" - is expected to be launched in December 2024.

The "Schönste Bücher aus Liechtenstein" competition has been held annually since 2001. All book designers as well as institutions and companies involved in book production can participate. The application can be made by the designers, printers, bookbinders or publishers/publishing institutions. At least one of the four participating partners must be active in Liechtenstein, or be a Liechtenstein designer.

National and international competition

The submitted publications are each judged by a jury of experts. The focus of the judging is not the content of a book, but the exemplary design of the book (typesetting, printing, image, cover). The decisive factors are therefore in particular the idea and concept, the graphic design (graphics, image, typesetting), the typography, the quality of the printing, the quality of the binding, the materials used and the overall impression.

While the competition primarily serves as a recognition and incentive in its own country, it is also a national elimination for Liechtenstein's participation in the international "Most Beautiful Books from Around the World" competition in Leipzig. The winning books from Liechtenstein are submitted annually for this competition. All books that take part in the international competition are also exhibited at the Leipzig Book Fair and the Frankfurt Book Fair.

Presentation and certificates

The "Schönste Bücher aus Liechtenstein" competition concludes each year with a presentation of the winning books. During this event, certificates are awarded for the winning books.
